Amanda Denny Meyer
M.S., PA(ASCP)CM, RYT-200 • Yoga Nidra Facilitator, Reiki Master
Though she just recently earned the title of Yoga Teacher in early 2022, Amanda has always had an interest in the human body and helping others. As a lifelong student, Amanda has worn many hats and had many different experiences. She worked for years in public safety as an Emergency Telecommunicator while also earning her undergraduate degree in Biology and her Masters Degree in Pathology. After earning both degrees, she was invited to become the first Forensic Pathologists’ Assistant in her state, performing hundreds of autopsies during her tenure. While all of these fields and subjects are interesting and stimulating, they also come with a significant amount of stress, especially for anyone who often empathizes with people. And, it’s no secret that stress is a major contributor to our society’s health problems, both physical and mental.
Therefore, after more than a decade of working in stressful situations and a lifetime of varying personal traumas, a new goal started forming in Amanda’s mind: To help others find healthy ways to reduce their stress and address their traumas.
While Amanda was still working in Pathology, she pursued her first step on the path to helping others with their stress and trauma by applying to join a Yoga Teacher Training. After months of training and successfully earning a dual certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher and Yoga Nidra Facilitator, Amanda then took a few more steps toward helping others by earning a Reiki Master certification.
Amanda continues to focus on offering both trusted methods and new ideas for stress relief for her clients. To do this she plans to forever continue her journey of learning, hoping to earn additional RYT hours, complete a Reiki Apprenticeship, add specialized training for trauma-informed yoga, and more, all in hopes of helping folks to manage their stress and live their best lives.
