The Indiana Holistic Center specializes in many modalities of Clinical Massage and Trauma Therapy, with more than 28 years of working with musicians, athletes and hospitals.

The Indiana Holistic Center, was founded by Beckie Kern in 1993 with a whole-being, holistic wellness philosophy, creating the first hospital-based massage and trauma therapy program at one of Indiana's largest hospitals, including: Neo-natal massage therapy; post-traumatic injury therapy; and pre- and post-transplant massage therapy for heart, liver, and kidney transplant patients. An on-site massage therapy program for employees still helps reduce stress and promotes well-being for nurses, doctors, administrators and other staff throughout the hospital network, as well as the staff and musicians of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. By 1996, an additional program was begun at The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana to utilize massage and trauma therapy for trauma patients on-site, as well as for their families. Later that same year, The Indiana Holistic Center added a "stress buster" program at The Indianapolis International Airport. In its first week, TIHC worked with more than 300 travelers and was featured on three local news programs.

 

Since then, The Indiana Holistic Center has continued to grow with its specialized focus on professional musicians, as well as university, high school, and competition-based musicians. Along with our Motorsports Rehab program in NASCAR and IndyCar, The Indiana Holistic Center has implemented many of the classic, holistic and emerging techniques acquired from its close working relationship with several local Indianapolis hospitals and physicians.

Our Pet & Animal Reiki program offers a peaceful, healing environment within shelters and other animal care settings. We work closely with staff and volunteers of shelter/rescues, veterinarians, and service organizations to help create a positive healing space for all, as well as individual pets in their homes, or in our downtown location to help promote healing from illness, injury, or surgery.

Today, these programs are still evolving, including our Biofield Therapies, Yoga, and Mindful Meditation classes for many businesses in the Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Carmel arts communities, as The Indiana Holistic Center continues to grow and share its holistic vision of optimal health for everyone.
