Muscle-Emotional Trauma Therapy
METT utilizing multiple therapeutic techniques
Service Description
A Muscle-Emotional Trauma Therapy session utilizes Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Biofield Therapies, and NLP/Hypnotherapy (if requested). This therapy session focuses on establishing a strong mind-body connection, helping to facilitate the release of emotional trauma and the resolution of accompanying physical symptoms. Tissue memory is an important concept as muscle tissues and cells can store memories that are related to traumatic experiences. When a muscle group is injured in a physical manner (ie. car accident, falls, etc.) a memory of that experience is stored in the affected area, a protective reminder of the painful experience. This muscle storing is also a mechanism in emotional traumas (ie. death of a loved one, witnessing a crime, loneliness, PTSD, etc.). When these tissue memories are not appropriately released, contraction remains in the body and can spread strain patterns, eventually causing chronic pain.
